Hi! I’m Lisa Liberman. I’m a GenX mom of a GenZer, wife to the best husband in the world, and cat mom of 2. Before leaving my corporate job in 2019, I secretly medicated with cannabis for 25 years while successfully climbing the ranks. A West Virginian by birth, I’ve made Cleveland, Ohio, my longtime home and am deeply rooted in the Great Lakes cannabis community! 

Before you spend your hard-earned money supporting a “professional stoner’s” business, I want you to know that I’ve built a seasoned team of cannabis event and hotel management professionals who are dedicated to making Lifted Lodging a smashing success. While my jobs in Corporate America prepared me for becoming a CEO, cannabis remains a critical part of who I am. After reading about me, I hope you’ll feel safe in buying a Membership, knowing that I am qualified to lead a business like Lifted Lodging.

As a child growing up in a small town, I was raised in poverty by a tenacious single mother. My mom made sure I knew that perseverance and curiosity, not intelligence alone, determine success. She taught me that everyone has the same struggles and deserves to be treated with respect. I feel proud that she used my infused caramels to better tolerate cancer treatments before passing away in 2017. Her strength spurred me to come out of the “cannabis closet” permanently. 

I joined the cannabis industry part-time in 2017, starting a home-party business called EDIYBLES that taught people to make edibles at home. I traveled far and wide over the next few years, from Cleveland to Atlantic City (CHAMPS), Akron, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit (Cannabis Cup), Denver, Boston, Baltimore, Portland, Milwaukee, Miami, Las Vegas, San Francisco and more.

During my time in the industry, you may have met me under a different name:

• L.A. Dawson (used in the cannabis industry before I left corporate)
• Lisa Altschuler (previous married name and legal name now)
• Lisa Liberman (current married name but not legally yet)

Sadly, the pandemic ended the EDIYBLES venture. But all of my travels taught me that it’s REALLY difficult to find friendly lodging, even in legal states! So, I pivoted to cannabis hospitality and spent my family’s savings to build a business that addresses this glaring need.

In 2021, I founded the parent company of Lifted Lodging, the world’s first brand focused on providing upscale overnight accommodations for elevated individuals, event planners, and groups. The concept earned me a Women Grow scholarship to the 2024 Benzinga Capital Conference. After a few years on the rollercoaster of real estate hell, I expect our first location will be open in 2025. 

Prior to that, I began my career with stints as a copy editor and in entry-level sales at PR Newswire. Later, I parlayed my degree in Education into senior technology training roles with National City Bank and Hyland Software. Next, I broadened my skill set with certifications in Organizational Change, landing a Vice President-level position with PNC Bank as an internal consultant, working with senior leaders on employee adoption initiatives for emerging technologies like enterprise data management, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.  

That’s how I got here, creating inclusive overnight lodging experiences centered around cannabis and connection that our community can enjoy without judgment. My pledge is to take care of our guests  – whether they consume the plant or not – and leave them refreshed when it’s time to say “Arrivederci, until next time.” And I will help like-minded people achieve the dream of controlling their destiny as Owner-Operators of their own resort.
